Building capacity in communities and organizations involves identifying starting points and desired outcomes, and working to bridge the gap from one to the other. Thrive Consulting works with clients to determine their capacity building or training needs, and develops strategies tailored to the existing skills and requisite outcomes of individual clients and their partners. We develop training content and delivery methods by working with clients to identify their specific needs, organizational capacity, time constraints, and technical resources. Training programs are customized to maximize efficiency and uptake, and minimize disruptions to work flow or daily activities. We have developed and delivered training programs in urban park and watershed management to field employees (for the Baltimore City Department of Recreation and Parks); social assessment training to managers of National Estuarine Reserve employees and managers (for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration); applications of the Human Ecosystem Framework in warfare ecology to a wide range of scholars (North Atlantic Treaty Organization); and have over 10 years of experience in teaching both undergraduate and graduate students. ![]() |
